The main things to consider with these systems are water pressure and flow rates, all of the above can be affected equally. If your incoming mains is not adequate it may need to be increased in size or an accumulator may be fitted.
An accumulator does as its name suggests, accumulates incoming water and boosts it for a limited time, if used with an unvented cylinder it must match in size to the cylinder.
All boilers installed have to be condensing which means its effiency is vastly improved from older non condensing systems and when installed and commissioned correctly can save you money.
Regular and system boilers installed in conjuction with unvented cylinders again boost effiency as the hot water takes less time to heat and stays warmer for longer. Though these cylinders require no tanks and run solely off the incoming mains feed to your house.
All gas appliances must be installed by a gas safe registered engineer, and upon installation must be registered to gas safe.
Unvented cylinders must be installed by a qualified competent installer. As with gas safe re examination is required every 5 years.
Boiler heating controls can often be overlooked but play an important role in system performance. Giving you full control of your system and understanding it can save a lot of energy expenditure.
Condensing boilers require a drain as they are constantly condensing and this condensate is acidic, so it must be run in plastic piping and to a drain. Pumps are available for removing condensate if there isn't a nearby drain.
Planning ahead is also a good idea if you decide to extend your home in the future your boiler must be adequate.
All of the above systems are suitable for use with underfloor heating.
